This is another spiritualy and socialy concious offering embossed with a wide variety of musical forms.
Finishing up with didjeridoo and Africanesque guitar, 'PLAYTHINGS' is raw but with high fidelity content.

Recorded in 2001 in London and Scotland, 'PLAYTHINGS' is classic Speakeasy ,recorded, like the JAMS FOR LAMBS album before it on 4 track recorder it similarly contains a wide variety of parts squeezed inventivly together, the opener 'THE GOOD NEWS' exemplifies the multi-layered arangements that typify the PILGRIM SPEAKEASY sound.
From the accoustic mellowness of 'EYES OF I' , the dubby groove of 'DRIFTMAN'' to the off the wallness of 'SUPERFISH 'and edges of 'THE MAIN EVENT' and 'BIBLE JOHN'.
Always prevailent in PS expression is a strong lyrical content heard here in (among others) 'SERVICE SECTOR SADNESS'
